Job summary

Burns Sheehan Ltd is seeking an AI Data Scientist in New York. You will partner with portfolio teams to source, clean, and analyze workforce, financial, and operational data to identify AI opportunities and deliver defensible value estimates.

You will build scalable models and present recommendations to investment committees, working closely with engineers to move from notebook to production tools in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment. Strong Python and SQL skills are required.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of hands-on analytics experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong foundation in statistics, segmentation, forecasting, and ML.
• Fluent in Python and SQL; able to write production-ready code.
• Proven ability to turn ambiguous questions into structured analysis and POV.
• Comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Source, clean, and analyze workforce, financial, and operational data at portfolio companies.
• Build quantitative models sizing AI-driven efficiency and value opportunities by function or process.
• Develop reusable analytical frameworks that scale across the portfolio.
• Translate findings into investment committee materials and present your work.
• Collaborate with software engineers to move models from notebook to production tool.
