Responsibilities

• Load, handle, and apply dry and liquid fertilizer, lime, and crop protection products.
• Operate designated application equipment safely and accurately.
• Ensure correct products and rates are applied to the correct fields and billed accordingly.
• Assist with mixing, loading, unloading, and transport of products.
• Assist with inventory management and equipment maintenance.
• Maintain safety compliance and proper PPE usage at all times.
• Recordkeeping and paperwork related to applications.
• Collaborate with supervisor and coworkers to minimize errors.
• Support scouting, product transportation, and producer services.

PURPOSE

As an Applicator at Central Valley Ag, you will be responsible for the application of agronomy products and to perform needed maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load, handle, and apply dry and liquid fertilizer, lime, and crop protection products.
• Understand and safely operate the application equipment assigned.
• Utilize the information supplied and the technology in the application equipment to ensure that the right products at the right rates are applied and billed to the right fields and customers.
• Assist in the mixing, loading, unloading and transporting of crop protection and fertilizer products.
• Assist with inventory management.
• Works with supervisor and co-workers to keep errors to a minimum.
• Consistently follows all laws, regulations, and safety rules (including PPE) in handling and applying products and storing chemicals.
• Assist with the maintenance of equipment and plant.
• Maintain positive communication with the supervisor and grower as needed.
• Assist with scouting, product transportation and various services for producers.
• Properly completes necessary paperwork and records.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• High School or GED diploma.
• Must be licensed and insurable to drive.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Class A CDL with tanker and HazMat endorsements.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Commercial Applicator’s License.
• Knowledge of DOT or DOT experience preferred.
