Job summary

Central Valley Ag is seeking an Applicator in Marquette, NE. You will apply dry and liquid fertilizers, lime, and crop protection products while operating the application equipment safely and accurately.

You will assist with mixing, loading, unloading, and transporting products and help manage inventory and records. You will work under supervision with growers and staff to ensure accurate product application, proper billing, and safe handling.

Qualifications

• High School or GED diploma is required.
• Must be licensed and insurable to drive.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Class A CDL with tanker and HazMat endorsements.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Commercial Applicator’s License.
• Knowledge of DOT or DOT experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate in a professional manner and establish effective working relationships with internal operations and external customers.
• Great basic mechanical skills.
• Safety is a priority and a safe work environment is promoted.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, organize and manage resources to meet deadlines.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work with others toward a common goal.

Responsibilities

• Follow all laws, regulations, safety rules, and PPE requirements.
• Assist with maintenance of equipment and plant.
• Maintain positive communication with supervisor and growers as needed.
• Assist with scouting, product transportation and various services for producers.
• Complete necessary paperwork and records.

PURPOSE

As an Applicator at Central Valley Ag, you will be responsible for the application of agronomy products and to perform needed maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load, handle, and apply dry and liquid fertilizer, lime, and crop protection products.
• Understand and safely operate the application equipment assigned.
• Utilize the information supplied and the technology in the application equipment to ensure that the right products at the right rates are applied and billed to the right fields and customers.
• Assist in the mixing, loading, unloading and transporting of crop protection and fertilizer products.
• Assist with inventory management.
• Works with supervisor and co-workers to keep errors to a minimum.
• Consistently follows all laws, regulations, and safety rules (including PPE) in handling and applying products and storing chemicals.
• Assist with the maintenance of equipment and plant.
• Maintain positive communication with the supervisor and grower as needed.
• Assist with scouting, product transportation and various services for producers.
• Properly completes necessary paperwork and records.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
