Job summary

Clinica Sierra Vista in Bakersfield, CA seeks an Applications Trainer I-III to design, deliver, and support training programs across health IT systems, including Epic. You will tailor training to real-world workflows and collaborate with clinicians and staff to boost adoption and confident use of the software.

The role requires coordinating with analysts and leaders, creating manuals and e-learning content, and delivering sessions in person or remotely.

Qualifications

• Proficiency or certification in at least one Epic module (e.g., EpicCare Ambulatory, Cadence) is desirable.
• Associate's degree in health information technology, Education, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
• Experience with Epic and other clinical or operational applications preferred.
• Familiarity with EHR systems, clinical workflows, and adult learning principles.
• Understanding of IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with application analysts and operational leaders to align training with system functionality and clinical/administrative workflows.
• Assist in assessing learning needs, identifying gaps, and incorporating feedback into training plans.
• Participate in developing and maintaining training plans that support system implementations, upgrades, and workflow enhancements.
• Deliver engaging and informative training sessions for new hires and existing users, including in-person, remote, and blended learning formats.
• Develop and update training materials such as manuals, quick reference guides, and e-learning modules to reflect current workflows and application updates.
• Provide refresher or remediation training based on usage data, support ticket trends, or observed challenges.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to support upgrade or optimization training initiatives.

Position Summary :

The Applications Trainer I is responsible for designing, delivering, and supporting training programs for clinical and administrative staff across a variety of health IT systems, including, but not limited to, Epic. This position plays a key role in supporting application adoption and optimal use by tailoring training to real-world workflows and organizational goals. The Applications Trainer I collaborates with stakeholders across departments to ensure end-users are equipped to use technology effectively and confidently.
