  • Capture and organize historical test data for future reference.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of testing areas and tools.
  • Support cross‑training and team coverage during peak testing periods.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Job description

Position Scope

The Applications Test Lead/Engineer is responsible for leading the research, development, and validation of new products, materials and testing processes at the Michigan test facility in support of the Applications Department. This role oversees daily laboratory operations, ensures testing accuracy and compliance, and drives innovation aligned with customer requirements and operational capabilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role currently operates as a hands‑on individual contributor, owning process development, test planning, execution, data analysis, and reporting. As the department grows, the position will evolve into a leadership role managing a structured Applications Test team and driving lab strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute test plans aligned with application design requirements.
  • Generate reliable design inputs.
  • Troubleshoot process or product performance gaps during trials.
  • Correct inventory labelling, storage and preparation.
  • Set up and operate test equipment.
  • Ensure proper instrumentation, calibration, and data integrity.
  • Maintain organized documentation and reporting standards.
  • Operate and maintain current equipment and future expansion.
  • Prepare clear, application-ready reports for internal and customer use.
  • Present findings and defend assumptions in technical discussions.

Skills & Qualifications

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer environments.
  • Manual dexterity to handle probes, instruments, and small components.
  • Proper use of required PPE at all times is required.
  • Full‑time schedule; hours may vary based on testing needs.
