Job summary

Empower AI, a government-focused AI company based in Reston, VA, is hiring an Applications Team Lead to steer multiple modernization projects in a fast-paced, Agile environment. You will gather requirements, draft stories, and drive sprint planning while coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring QA quality.

Qualified candidates will have 3+ years in DevSecOps, Agile, QA, budgeting, and a DoD Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Three or more years' experience with DevSecOps development strategies.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline preferred; equivalent years of experience managing application development projects will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Three or more years' experience with Agile development processes and tools.
• Three or more years' experience with Quality Assurance (QA) application testing.
• Three or more years' experience managing budgets and resources across multiple application projects.
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Responsibilities

The Applications Team Lead brings senior application project management experience utilizing Agile development best practices. Under indirect supervision, this position oversees the management of multiple application modernization projects, including requirements gathering, estimating level of effort, drafting development stories, facilitating backlog reviews and sprint planning meetings, coordinating resources, reviewing QA results, and performing final review.

Responsibilities include requirements gathering, estimating Level of Effort (LOE), drafting development stories, facilitating backlog reviews & sprint planning meetings, coordinating resources, reviewing QA results, and performing final review. Manages resources across each development effort and provides staffing recommendations for new or expanding projects. Provides budget reports to track burn rates across each project to ensure projects stay within budget.

Manages master project schedule and reprioritizes efforts to prevent collisions. Works directly with customers to communicate project status. Works with the development teams to identify areas for improvements and gain efficiencies.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Three or more years' experience with DevSecOps development strategies.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline is preferred; equivalent years of experience managing application development projects will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Three or more years' experience with Agile development processes and tools.
• Three or more years' experience with Quality Assurance (QA) application testing.
• Three or more years' experience managing budgets and resources across multiple application projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience effectively managing multiple large-scale projects.
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical/business discipline or equivalent years of experience managing application development projects.
• Working knowledge of DoD STIGs and IA Vulnerability Management (IAVM).

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to perform the below essential functions:

• Sitting for long periods
• Ambulate throughout an office
• Ambulate between several buildings
• Occasional travel to government facilities or data center locations may be required based on mission needs.

Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to work location, skills, experience, gov con contractual requirements, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Empower AI's total compensation package for employees.
