Job summary

North Carolina Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) – Transportation is seeking an Applications Systems Analyst II (NS) to lead SAP ERP initiatives within the DOT ERP ecosystem.

The role requires strong analytical capabilities, technical leadership, and experience in developing or supporting SAP-based processes. Hybrid remote work with weekly onsite presence is available under state policy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or IT-related field and two years of experience in business application consulting or development
  • Associate degree in computer science or IT-related field and three years of experience in application consulting or development
  • GED diploma and six years of experience in business application consulting or development

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform a full range of advanced analytical and technical activities utilizing the SAP ERP system
  • Perform complex analysis, design, programming, testing and support on modifications and enhancements to SAP modules
  • Write highly complex requirement documents, detail design documents, technical specifications, and test scripts
  • Manage change requests from initiation through completion and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Description of Work

Salary Range: $81,504 - $122,256

The position is designated Statutory Exempt (EHRA) and is exempt from the State Human Resources Act.

This position may be eligible for hybrid remote work in accordance with state policy and the agency’s remote work program but does require weekly onsite work. Any telework will be under the conditions of the state Teleworking Program Policy and the employer may end any teleworking arrangement at any time in the employer's sole discretion.

Are you ready to take the next step in your career? We currently have an opening for an Applications Systems Analyst II. The primary purpose of Enterprise Business Services (EBS) within the Department of Information Technology - Transportation is to provide the full spectrum of information processing services and support for the Department of Transportation (DOT). This position is staffed to Enterprise Business Services an IT competency center whose mission is to provide a comprehensive DOT Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system utilizing SAP software. Under the direction of an IT manager, this position will provide leadership, technical guidance, and direction to other team members on the Enterprise Business Services (EBS) Development Team.

Duties

Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Management Preferences

The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:

  • Demonstrated experience performing application development in a large-scale SAP software environment including reviewing and analyzing user requests, requirements gathering, estimating, applications analysis and design, debugging, testing, implementation, documentation, and support for appropriate programs and systems
  • Experience in independently managing priorities, project timelines, resources, staff, and implementation efforts
  • Demonstrated skills in oral and written communications with users, peers, management, and professional staff
Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in business application consulting or development
  • Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in application consulting or development
  • High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and six years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
