Job summary

Ampco Pumps Company is seeking an Applications Engineer to support our Applied Products team in Wisconsin. You will work with end users, distributors, sales, and engineering to develop and sell complex design solutions in mixing and blending applications, ensuring quotes, tests, and deployments meet customer needs.

Responsibilities include generating quotes, reviewing prints, conducting lab tests, supporting trial startups, and traveling to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering required.
• 3-5 years related experience preferred.
• Experience with mixing and blending applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Generate timely and accurate quotations for new mixing and blending projects by taking customer requests, refining details, making assumptions, and selecting equipment.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of mixing and blending applications.
• Act as a technical resource for end users, distributors, and sales team.
• Assist end users and distributors by troubleshooting issues and advising best practices.
• Design product tests for new applications; build and test lab-scale mixing equipment to gather data and inform decisions.
• Review 3D and 2D prints to ensure quotes translate to built parts.
• Execute final quality checks prior to shipment.
• Occasionally travel to customer sites for trial equipment startup and commissioning.
• Suggest ideas for new products and stay current on industry developments.
• Other duties as assigned.
