Job summary

Vulcan Elements is seeking an Applications Engineer to own the technical progression of customer programs from initial engagement through qualification and production. You will bridge customers, commercial teams, and internal engineering to translate requirements into high-performance magnet solutions.

This role sits within the Commercial Development team, driving opportunities through samples, testing, validation, and ramp to production, while supporting cross-functional teams to ensure timely

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field is required.
• 5+ years in customer-facing engineering roles.
• Experience with magnets, magnetic materials, or related production environments.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into manufacturable specifications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers to understand application requirements and identify suitable magnet solutions.
• Provide guidance on magnet materials, grades, coatings, and performance.
• Serve as primary technical contact for questions, clarifications, and issue resolution.
• Translate customer requirements into clear technical requirements for production and materials teams.
• Drive customer programs through milestones from samples to production readiness and PPAP where applicable.
