Job summary

DMW&H is seeking an Applications Engineer II to support new business procurement through technical evaluations, system design, and estimating. You’ll work with the Solutions Engineering team to develop technical content for customer proposals and independently oversee small to medium projects.

Strong automation and data skills, plus excellent collaboration, are essential for success. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in engineering and have expertise in material handling subsystems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial or mechanical engineering preferred; other disciplines considered based on experience.
• Expert in one area of relevant material handling sub-systems (ASRS, Bot ASRS, Palletizing, GTP).
• Proficient in AutoCAD (latest versions), with 3D design experience preferred; familiarity with Configura a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary mechanical point of contact for opportunities, reporting roadblocks and coordinating milestone meetings.
• Design and illustrate customized material handling solutions tailored to client needs using CAD tools.
• Develop and oversee cost estimates and follow the opportunity plan milestones; provide technical support during pre- and post-sales activities.
• Meet with vendors to evaluate equipment capabilities, software functionality, and terms; identify new technologies or alternate suppliers.
• Work with department teams and occasionally lead training sessions on new technologies and processes.
• Represent DMW&H at trade shows and support opportunities requiring travel.
