Hosokawa Micron Powder Systems is seeking an Application Engineer in Summit, NJ to analyze customer specifications and develop technical and commercial proposals. You will coordinate equipment testing and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver processing solutions for the food industry.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field and 3+ years in application/ process engineering or technical sales within food manufacturing, with GMP/FDA experience.

Responsabilidades

• Identify and qualify prospective customer opportunities through phone, email, virtual, and in-person engagement.
• Review and analyze customer specifications, process requirements, and data to recommend equipment and process solutions.
• Evaluate material characteristics and processing parameters to determine appropriate equipment configurations.
• Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and cost estimates using standard business software and internal systems.
• Coordinate and participate in customer equipment trials and testing activities domestically and internationally.
• Maintain and manage customer opportunities, project records, and sales activity within the CRM system.
• Analyze application requirements, sales data, and market trends to support business development efforts.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and sales teams to ensure alignment of technical solutions with customer requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with food processing companies, plant engineers, and production teams.

The Application Engineer analyzes customer specifications, prepares technical and commercial proposals, coordinates equipment testing, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective processing solutions and support customer success within the food industry. This role applies Hosokawa Micron Powder Systems technologies used for size reduction, classification, mixing, drying, compaction, and containment processes commonly utilized in food ingredient, nutraceutical, and powder processing applications.

Essential Duties

• Identify and qualify prospective customer opportunities through phone, email, virtual, and in-person engagement.
• Review and analyze customer specifications, process requirements, and application data to recommend appropriate equipment and process solutions.
• Evaluate material characteristics and processing parameters to determine appropriate equipment configurations.
• Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and cost estimates using standard business software and internal systems.
• Coordinate and participate in customer equipment trials and testing activities domestically and internationally.
• Maintain and manage customer opportunities, project records, and sales activity within the CRM system.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
• 3+ years of professional experience in application engineering, process engineering, or technical sales supporting industrial or process equipment within food manufacturing or food processing environments.
• 3+ years of experience working in environments operating under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and/or FDA-regulated production standards with an understanding of food processing operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supporting equipment applications within food processing environments.
• 5+ years of experience preparing technical proposals, quotations, or equipment solutions for industrial processing systems.
• 5+ years of experience supporting protein powder, nutraceutical, or related food processing applications.
• 5+ years of experience utilizing a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain in a stationary position while working at a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to move within office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments.
• Occasional standing, walking, and lifting of materials up to 10 pounds.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require.

Salary/Rate Range

$68,334 - $116,133

Salaries/Rates will vary and may be above or below this rate commensurate with several factors including experience, education, training, location, and merit.
