Job summary

Duravant’s nVenia team in Wood Dale, IL is seeking an Applications Engineer 2 to translate customer requirements into quotes and designs. The role focuses on evaluating RFQs, matching specifications to product lines, and producing professional proposals.

You will create initial layouts in AutoCAD, estimate costs, and collaborate with engineering, product management, and sales to deliver best-fit solutions and kick off projects successfully.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred.
• Solid knowledge of manufacturing and engineering processes.
• Experience in packaging and/or automation industries is a plus.
• Engineering design/quoting experience in applications or sales engineering is required.
• Sales engineering background is a plus.
• Technical writing experience is preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Word and Excel is expected.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs, custom specifications, and sales requests.
• Determine if nVenia has a solution for the RFQ.
• Read customer specs and compare to nVenia products for best fit.
• Create initial concepts and layouts matching customer needs.
• Design package configurations to satisfy RFQ requirements.
• Create conceptual layouts for quotations using AutoCAD.
• Prepare and present proposals with cost estimates.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers on requirements.
• Coordinate with Production and Supply Chain on labor and costs.
• Engage with Sales to understand competitive advantages and assist in kickoffs.
