The role emphasizes hands-on design using AutoCAD/SolidWorks, strong customer-facing communication, and the ability to develop concepts and budgets for projects from inquiry through installation.

Qualifications

• Experience with custom automation, machine building, or manufacturing equipment.
• Knowledge of robotics, automated assembly, material handling, machining, welding, gauging, or testing systems.
• Ability to develop equipment concepts and estimate project costs.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks preferred.
• Strong customer-facing, technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts and preliminary layouts for custom automation and machinery.
• Review customer specifications, RFQs, drawings, and technical requirements.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and technical proposals covering labor, materials, engineering, and installation.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, vendors, and suppliers during the quoting process.
• Work directly with customers to clarify requirements, present solutions, and provide technical support throughout the sales process.
