Job description

We have an opportunity for an Applications Engineer to join our team in Bloomfield, CT. The Applications Engineer researches, develops, and designs solutions for bearing applications to meet customer requirements, productivity, and quality expectations. They also manage projects within designated cost, quality, and timelines.

Responsibilities

1. Create bearing designs and proposal drawings using Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs to meet customer requirements within quality, cost, and timeline expectations.
2. Provide answers to customers' technical questions.
3. Create test plans and/or reports for in-house bearing tests, as required.
4. Consult with Sales on product requirements and assist with technical presentations for internal and external customers.
5. Develop and execute project plans for customer-specific and new product development activities.
6. Contact suppliers for technical and cost information, and produce cost estimates for proposals.
7. Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following safety and environmental procedures.
8. Make process improvement recommendations and contribute to the 5S program.
9. Provide high-quality service to internal and external customers, fostering a positive teamwork environment.
10. Perform other duties as assigned, participate in training, and accomplish related results as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: BS degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Metallurgy, or Civil Engineering preferred.
• Experience: 3-5 years in mechanical design, working with close tolerances in a manufacturing environment using CAD programs.
