Job summary

Schunk Sonosystems North America is seeking an entry-level Applications Engineer to join a team focused on ultrasonic metal welding technology. You’ll start hands-on with assembly and manufacturing, then transition to a customer-facing role supporting new projects and troubleshooting field challenges.

You’ll learn processes, validate applications, and create training materials while partnering with engineering, design, and sales teams. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for understanding machinery.
• Experience assembling, testing, maintaining, or troubleshooting industrial equipment is valued.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Familiarity with PCs, Windows, pneumatics, electronics, and PLCs.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.
• Experience training operators or technicians is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Are you an early-career mechanical engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, working hands-on with equipment, and interacting with customers? We're seeking an Applications Engineer to join a growing team specializing in advanced ultrasonic metal welding technology.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop expertise from the ground up. You'll start by working closely with manufacturing and assembly teams to learn the equipment, processes, and technology firsthand. As your knowledge grows, you'll transition into a customer-facing applications role, supporting new projects, troubleshooting field challenges, validating processes, and helping customers achieve success with cutting-edge manufacturing solutions.

What You'll Do
