Job summary

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute technical engineering for quotes and proposals, including IPBU and scope of supply.
• Attend and support technical meetings for projects, virtually and in person.
• Develop IPBU using relevant tools reflecting customer specs and project scope.
• Review customer specifications for standards, testing, and major purchases; coordinate with sub-vendors.
• Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Product Management on terms, pricing adders, and payment conditions.
• Create comprehensive proposals with IPBU, scope, P&ID, and terms.

At FS-Elliott our Applications Engineers play a critical role in delivering technically sound solutions that align FS-Elliott’s product offerings with customer requirements. This position is responsible for the technical review of new apparatus and aftermarket sales opportunities, preparing detailed proposals, and collaborating closely with internal teams and customers. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute technical engineering for new apparatus compressor and aftermarket quotes, including airend-only, control panel-only, standard industrial units, air separation units, and engineered full units.
• Attend and support technical meetings for prospective projects, both virtually and in person.
• Generate aerodynamic selections based on customer requirements to determine appropriate frame sizes; collaborate with Product Engineering for customized aero solutions when needed.
• Develop Internal Price Build Ups (IPBU) using relevant tools, reflecting customer specifications and project scope.
• Review customer specifications to ensure compliance with standards, documentation, testing, and major purchase buyouts; coordinate with sub-vendors to confirm proposal compliance.
• Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Product Management to verify commercial terms, pricing adders, and payment conditions.
• Work with internal teams to establish pricing for non-standard customer requirements.
• Create comprehensive proposals including IPBU, scope of supply, preliminary outlines, P&ID, payment terms, and exceptions.
• Prepare purchase requisitions and specify technical requirements for specialty component procurement.
• Support Sales and Product Management in addressing scope and customer queries.
• Provide technical support for aftermarket products, including package upgrades, rerates, airend overhauls, control panels, and parts.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education and experience.

• Familiarity with API level applications specifically API 672 and 614 preferred.
• Experience with centrifugal compressors or other rotating equipment.
