Job summary

Element Solutions Inc's MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions is seeking an Applications Engineer to bridge product development and real-world application. You will support development, validate performance in customer applications, and provide technical expertise to drive adoption.

A degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science is required; you will design tests, analyze results, and communicate with customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field; experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of chemistry, materials science, or chemical engineering.
• Experience applying chemistry expertise to real-world applications.

Responsibilities

• Support product development with R&D teams and ensure products meet application needs.
• Conduct lab and pilot-scale evaluations to validate performance in customer conditions.
• Provide technical support to customers and sales teams for product selection and troubleshooting.
• Develop technical guidelines, documentation, and training materials for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturing to align capabilities with market needs.
• Analyze performance data and recommend product or application improvements.
• Participate in customer trials and ensure successful implementation of solutions.
• Stay current on industry trends to inform R&D priorities.

We are seeking a technically skilled and customer-focused Applications Engineer to bridge the gap between product development and real-world application. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent communication skills and enjoys working closely with customers and internal teams to deliver innovative solutions.

You will play a key role in supporting product development, validating performance in customer applications, and providing technical expertise to drive adoption and satisfaction.

What will you be doing?

As an Applications Engineer, you will:

• Support product development: Collaborate with R&D scientists to ensure new products meet application requirements.
• Conduct application testing: Perform lab and pilot-scale evaluations to validate product performance in customer-specific conditions.
• Provide technical support: Assist customers and sales teams with product selection, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Develop application guidelines: Create technical documentation, best practices, and training materials for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturing to align product capabilities with market needs.
• Analyze performance data: Interpret test results and provide recommendations for product improvements or application enhancements.
• Participate in customer trials: Support on-site evaluations and ensure successful implementation of solutions.
• Stay current on industry trends: Monitor emerging technologies and application requirements to inform R&D priorities.
