Insight Global is seeking an Application Engineer to support a leading electrical infrastructure and power systems organization. You will perform ampacity, short-circuit, voltage drop, and impedance calculations while collaborating with customers and internal teams.

This role blends engineering design, field support, technical training, and product development to tackle real-world power system challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Strong understanding of electrical power systems and three-phase power.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and technical analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to customers, sales teams, manufacturing teams, and engineering groups.
• Perform cable ampacity, short-circuit, voltage drop, impedance, and pulling tension calculations.
• Review cable designs and customer specifications for compliance with industry standards.
• Develop engineering studies, technical reports, and customer recommendations.
• Interpret and apply electrical industry standards and codes.
• Deliver technical presentations and customer training sessions.
• Travel with sales teams to support customer discussions and project opportunities.
• Assist with qualification testing, laboratory evaluations, and product development efforts.
• Support cable installations, field investigations, and troubleshooting activities.
• Stay current on advancements in electrical power systems and cable technologies.
• Collaborate across departments to deliver technical solutions for customers.
