Job summary

NewGen Technologies is seeking an Applications Developer to support a U.S. Government client with on-site incident response, breach investigations, and rapid restoration of services.

The role requires a technical background, active citizenship, and the ability to obtain DHS suitability. The candidate should have hands-on experience with Python, AWS, RESTful APIs, and containerization, and be able to collaborate across remote and on-site teams to deliver secure software solutions.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Secret Clearance; TS/SCI preferred.
• Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability.
• 2+ years of directly relevant experience in applications development.
• Knowledge of secure software development lifecycle and code versioning and maintenance.
• Experience with AWS resources (S3, SQS, Lambda, Glue, Route 53).
• Experience with containerization (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Excellent communication and ability to work with customers directly.

Responsibilities

• Design, troubleshoot, and implement software code for end-to-end development.
• Design, develop, enhance, debug, integrate, and implement software.
• Troubleshoot production problems related to software applications.
• Research, test, build, and coordinate integration of new products based on user requirements.
• Initiate action for evaluation and recommendation of software packages and testing tools.
• Resolve problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
• Design, develop, integrate, and interface with web application RESTful APIs.
• Implement recommendations for improved documentation and development standards.
• Ensure quality control of all developed and modified prototype software.

Our Partner is supporting a U.S. Government customer to provide support for onsite incident response to civilian Government agencies and critical asset owners who experience cyber-attacks, providing immediate investigation and resolution. Contract personnel perform investigations to characterize the severity of breaches, develop mitigation plans, and assist with the restoration of services. They are seeking an Applications Developer to support this critical customer mission.

Responsibilities

• Design, troubleshoot, and implementsoftware code for end-to-end software development
• Design, develop, enhance, debug, integrate, and implementsoftware
• Troubleshootproduction problems related to software applications

Requirements

• BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering or related degree; or HS Diploma & 4-6 years of directly relevant experience
• Desired Certifications:
  • CSSLP
  • Sec+
• 2+ years of directly relevant experience in applications development
• Knowledge of secure software development lifecycle and code versioning and maintenance
• Experience with assessing and integrating commercial off the shelf (COTS) products
• Knowledge and familiarity to work with the installation, demonstration, test, validation and evaluation of new and existing software, tools, methods, and software measurement technologies
• Operational experience with Python
• Experience working with AWS resources such as S3, SQS, Lambda, Glue, and Route 53
• Knowledge of software application development and RESTful architecture
• Knowledge of data transformation and manipulation via code
• Experience working and developing in/with containerization software including Kubernetes and Docker
• Must have strong communication skills and have experience interacting with customers directly in a project environment or technical demonstration
• Must be able to work collaboratively across remote and physical locations

Desired Skills

• Experience with two or more of the following: JSON, Data Analytics, MongoDB, Elastic Search, Databricks, Postgress, Ansible, Vue.js, React, HTML, Podman, Process Automation, UI Development, CI/CD knowledge
• Familiarity with data transformation (ETL)
