Job summary

Alameda Health System is seeking an Application Support Analyst to assist with implementation and ongoing support of assigned applications from user and technical perspectives. You will troubleshoot, document issues, and coordinate with vendors and IT staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

• One year of experience in a related area.
• Epic certification within 6 months if position is Epic.

Responsibilities

• Provide application support including troubleshooting and coordinating with vendor representatives.
• Enter and update enhancement request logs; track progress.
• Provide data analysis, design specifications and documentation.
• Analyze problems during development and suggest solutions.
• Coordinate with end users, IT staff, and vendors to resolve issues.
• Coordinate follow-through on user requests and recommend system changes.
• Document and prioritize problem reports and resolutions.
• Manage problem tracking logs and action items for projects or support.
• Assist testing activities for upgrades and new functionality.

SUMMARY:

Assists with the implementation and support of assigned applications from both the application-user and technical perspectives.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE:

Following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.

1. Provides support of the application, including trouble-shooting problems, recording and tracking problems and working with vendor representatives to correct problems.

2. Enters and updates software enhancement request logs; tracks progress on enhancements and communicates the status of requests to customers.

3. Provides data analysis, design specifications and documentation.

4. Analyzes problems during development and suggests solutions.

5. Coordinates with end users, appropriate application support staff, IT staff, and vendors to identify and correct reported problems.

6. Coordinates follow-through on user requests using established reporting structure; makes recommendations as needed for system changes and enhancements.

7. Documents and prioritizes all problem reports and documents resolution.

8. Responsible for issue problem tracking and resolution; manages the problem and action item logs which track project or support issues and their resolutions.

9. Assists application testing, technical, product, and interface teams to perform assigned testing activities supporting upgrades, enhancements, new functionality, application and system changes, and modifications.

10. Collaborates with appropriate application testing teams regarding test scripts supporting clinical and operational workflows.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Required Education:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, healthcare or other related field.

Required Experience:

One year of experience in a related area.

Preferred Experience:

Software/Hardware implementation experience using diversified product lines of information systems; experience managing, supporting, and/or implementing complex projects that require coordination of resource, budget development, and project planning; hospital and/or other health care application experience.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

If position is for Epic, certification required within 6 months in the application being supported.

Pay Range:

$40.82- $68.04 / Hour

The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization.
