Job Summary
Our client, a leading Energy provider, is seeking a Application Support Analyst to join their team.
Contract Details
- Contract type and duration: 12 months
- Work location: Houston, TX
- Onsite, hybrid or remote expectations: Onsite 5 days per week
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee the full application inventory, ensuring accurate data, lifecycle tracking, and alignment with enterprise standards
- Manage license counts (increase/decrease), monitor usage, and coordinate renewals with vendors and internal app groups
- Facilitate intake of new applications into the environment and coordinate retirement activities for decommissioned systems
- Receive application packages from vendors and ensure smooth handoff to software engineering teams
- Support risk assessment workflows by coordinating required documentation and ensuring compliance steps are completed (not performing the assessment itself)
- Ensure DR plans are documented, updated, and scheduled appropriately
- Maintain understanding of upstream platforms, dependencies, maintenance schedules, and required updates
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve intake processes, and enhance cross-team collaboration
- Partner with IT, DevOps, program teams, researchers, and business units to ensure smooth application operations and communication
Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)
- Support onboarding of new applications into the environment
- Coordinate application evaluations and approvals
- Manage application upgrades and new version packaging
- Support application retirement and decommissioning activities
- Coordinate changes related to vendor updates and environment modifications
Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)
- Python - Ability to read, write, or modify scripts to support automation or operational tasks
- Strong experience managing sites, permissions, workflows, and content structures
- Prior experience with application portfolio management platforms
- Understanding of modern AI/LLM concepts and how they integrate into enterprise applications
- Awareness of how applications interact with infrastructure, pipelines, and platform services

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $94,500.00 and $135,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
