Job summary

Elliott Tool Technologies is seeking a hands-on Technical Applications Specialist to be the go-to expert for our tube tool product line. You will install, commission, and validate equipment in the field, train customers and internal teams, and lead issue resolution with a focus on continuous improvement.

The role involves remote/onsite collaboration with Engineering, Marketing, and Sales, and requires travel up to 35% including occasional international trips.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree, technical certification, skilled trades training, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
• Certifications: Relevant mechanical, manufacturing, machining, maintenance, or technical certifications are a plus.
• Experience: Hands-on experience with industrial tooling or equipment in applications engineering, field service, commissioning, machining, maintenance, or technical customer support.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience with tube expanding, heat exchangers, boilers, condensers, CNC machining, or related industrial equipment is highly preferred.
• Technical Expertise: Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose issues, understand equipment applications, and recommend practical solutions.
• Training Ability: Demonstrated success teaching customers, technicians, or coworkers how to operate and apply technical products.
• Communication Skills: Ability to explain technical concepts clearly, build credibility with customers, and collaborate across departments.
• Results Orientation: Self-motivated, accountable, and driven to achieve goals while continuously learning and improving.
• Location Requirement: Must be located within a reasonable commuting distance of Dayton, Ohio.
• Travel Requirement: Ability to travel approximately 30-35%, including occasional international travel, based on customer needs and project schedules.

Responsibilities

• Solve Customer Challenges: Provide advanced product, application, and technical support by phone, Teams, email, and onsite visits to help customers improve performance and resolve operational issues.
• Commission Equipment in the Field: Travel to customer locations to install, commission, and validate equipment performance while ensuring successful startup and adoption.
• Deliver Hands-On Training: Teach customers and employees how to safely and effectively operate, maintain, and troubleshoot tube tooling equipment.
• Own Voice of the Customer Cases: Lead customer issue resolution efforts, identify root causes, and partner with internal teams to drive continuous improvement.
• Serve as the Tube Tool Expert: Act as the Tier II technical resource for product applications, equipment selection, and best practices across the organization.
• Support Product Development: Collaborate with Engineering, Marketing, and Sales to evaluate new products, gather field feedback, and improve customer outcomes.
• Manage Customer Trial Programs: Coordinate beta sites, support product evaluations, and document results to accelerate successful product launches.
• Enable Sales Success: Partner with the sales team to recommend solutions, support customer demonstrations, and provide application expertise throughout the sales process.
