Job summary

Axalta Coating Systems seeks a Coatings Application Specialist to join our team at the Brighton, MI location. You will support our Refinish coatings businesses, execute experiments, and simulate customer shop conditions to drive product optimization.

Responsibilities include performing spray applications, preparing and evaluating samples, and collaborating with R&D, Sales, and Technical Service. Travel to sites as needed and uphold safety procedures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of application experience in collision shop environments.
• Excellent hand spray application skills, including blending techniques.
• Ability to train technicians in basic and advanced paint application.
• Understanding of color retrieval software and color measurement.
• Knowledge of refinish repair techniques and spray equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

The candidate will join the Refinish GBT Technology Organization supporting our Refinish coatings businesses. The Application Specialist will be responsible for executing experiments that simulate customer shop conditions for problem resolution and product optimization.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of Axalta Refinish products, application methods, and performance characteristics.

• Thorough understanding of spray equipment used in the refinish industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
