Job summary

Consulting Solutions is seeking an Application Solution Architect to lead solution design and architecture reviews for software initiatives in the United States. You will translate business goals into clear requirements and shape end‑to‑end designs that guide delivery teams.

Responsibilities include modeling workflows, defining integration approaches, and producing architecture artifacts aligned to standards. Collaboration with product, engineering and security teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Translate business goals into clear functional and non-functional requirements, define scope boundaries and assumptions.
• Produce designs that align to architecture vision/principles/standards and prepare for council review and compliance.
• Create/maintain architecture deliverables using required templates and boilerplate; ensure completeness before review.
• Model business and system workflows; identify handoffs, failure points, and optimization opportunities.
• Understand system interactions and data flows; design integrations across apps and services.
• Capture interface requirements and constraints for APIs, file sharing, and streaming/eventing.
• Design with customer and employee channel needs in mind across branch, care center and digital channels.
• Maintain boilerplate pages and documentation for architecture intake & governance.

Position Title: Application Solution Architect

Position Location:

• Birmingham, AL (preferred)
• Pittsburgh, PA
• Farmers Branch, TX

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Solution, design and review specific to software development
• Up Front analysis design oriented activates
• Disseminating architecture into low level designs inside the delivery cruise

Must Have Technical Skills: 3-5 yrs experience

• Requirements analysis & solution scoping (translate business goals into clear functional + non-functional requirements; define scope boundaries and assumptions)
• Solution design using standards & governance (produce designs that align to architecture vision/principles/standards; prepare for architecture council review and compliance)
• Architecture documentation & artifacts (create/maintain architecture deliverables using required templates/boilerplate; ensure completeness before review
• Process & workflow modeling (model business and system workflows; identify handoffs, failure points, and optimization opportunities
• System interaction + integration design (conceptual) (understand system interactions and data flows; design integrations across apps and services)
• API / event / file integration literacy (ability to reason about integration options such as APIs, file sharing, and streaming/eventing; capture interface requirements and constraints)
• Omni-channel experience awareness (customer + employee) (design with both customer-facing and employee-facing channel needs in mind; consider branch/care center and digital channels)
• Tool proficiency for architecture intake & governance workflow
• Confluence (boilerplate pages, documentation, job aids)
• Diagramming (e.g., Gliffy or equivalent for solution models)

Flex Skills/Nice to Have

• Basic cloud and migration awareness (familiarity with modernizing architectures and cloud preference/migration concepts)
• Familiarity with modern architecture patterns (microservices, containers, streaming platforms) at a conceptual level- enough to document impacts and integration needs
• Data flow & master data concepts (comfortable discussing customer/master data impacts and how distributed apps integrate with shared data services/APIs and batch patterns)
• Vendor/third-party assessment support (help evaluate vendor fit, integration approach, and constraints during selection / RFP phases

Soft Skills

• Clear written communication (produce concise, complete architecture docs and decision records; write for both technical and non-technical audiences)
• Stakeholder collaboration & cross-team coordination (partner with product, engineering, security, and architecture peers; work through dependencies)
• Facilitation & meeting readiness (support/participate in peer reviews, prep sessions, and council reviews; capture action items and drive closure)
• Analytical thinking & structured problem solving (break down ambiguous problems into requirements, options, risks, and recommendations)
• Organization & follow-through (track intake tickets, statuses, and action items to completion)
• Comfort with feedback & iterative refinement (incorporate review comments and re-submit artifacts; operate in a facilitated consensus environment)
