Job summary

iKnowHow S.A. is seeking a Senior Application & Software Developer to lead the design of enterprise applications across the SDLC. You will define architecture, drive technical decisions, and craft scalable, secure solutions using Azure services and AI capabilities.

The role involves hands-on development, integration within the sBMS, mentoring junior developers, creating technical docs, and supporting deployment from QA to production environments. English fluency is required.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Application & Software Developer with a strong software engineering background to lead the design of modern enterprise applications throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The ideal candidate will define application architecture, drive technical decisions, and design scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure application services and modern AI capabilities where they add business value.

Job Specifications:

• Development, configuration, maintenance and documentation of software components based on applicable design specifications.
• Development and integration of technological components within the sBMS architecture.
• Development of interoperability components in accordance with the EU interoperability framework, reusing components from adjacent systems where applicable.
• Development of unit test specifications and execution using the applicable toolset and infrastructure environment.
• Design of automation testing scripts for unit testing and integration testing in the development environment.
• Participation in code reviews to ensure adherence to best development practices, improve code quality and security, and facilitate knowledge sharing.
• Guiding and mentoring junior developers to foster skill growth and maintain technical cohesion across the development team.
• Implementation of user requirements as specified by the Product Owner and Business Analyst team.
• Contribution to the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation, including installation and operation manuals.
• Assistance with deployment and configuration of the system into QA, pre-production and production environments.

• Ability to understand IT design models and specifications and use them as a basis for programming.
• In-depth knowledge of the applicable programming environment — primarily Java (Spring Boot microservices). Good knowledge of web and multi-tier web application development. Good knowledge of the web services stack used in the project (REST, gRPC, Kafka/IBM Event Streams). Ability to work with containerised platforms: OpenShift/Kubernetes, Docker/Podman, Helm, Istio. Experience with CI/CD pipelines: GitHub CI/CD, ArgoCD, JFrog Artifactory, SonarQube, Fortify. Experience with observability tooling: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Vector, Kibana), Splunk. Experience with CASE or modelling tools (e.g. Sparx Enterprise Architect, UML 2.x diagrams). Ability to cope with fast-changing technologies in application development. Experience and willingness to work in an international/multicultural environment. Written and spoken English at minimum C1 level (CEFR).
