This role works within the Digital Development team with customers, architects, and partners to implement application services to solve mission-critical business challenges. The Application Services Developer will architect, build, and maintain integrations for multiple on-premises and cloud systems. The Application Services Developer must be capable of understanding business requirements, working with end users, and deploying the integrations. This position uses applied knowledge and experience with Java Enterprise Edition (J2EE), MuleSoft product suite, software and endpoint design, development, testing, and deployment to construct digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities
The Application Services Developer Lead will have the following key responsibilities, which include but are not limited to:
- Identifies, analyzes, and develops interfaces and integration flows using MuleSoft AnyPoint platform including Mule Runtime, Connectors, Design Center, and Application Programming Interface (API) management.
- Responsible for programming and software development using various programming languages and related tools and frameworks, reviewing code written by other programmers, requirement gathering, bug fixing, testing, documenting, and implementation.
- Explains complex technical issues to project managers, developers, team leads, and architects in an easy-to-understand manner and recommends clearly thought-out solutions.
- Applies a deep understanding of Synchronous and Asynchronous communication patterns and problem-solving abilities with respect to Message sequencing, Correlation, and Queuing.
- Applies knowledge of Integration Design patterns for building middleware systems from the ground up using Message Routing, Content Enrichment, Message Filtering, Message Transformation, Guaranteed Delivery, Message Sequencing, Batch Message processing, error handling, and reconciliation mechanisms.
- Provides suggestions and critiques; applies knowledge of Web Services Interoperability.
- Provides status updates and reporting metrics to the program leadership and contributes towards on-time and on-budget delivery.

Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s of Science in computer science, computer engineering, or applied mathematics - Required.
- 8 years of experience in design and development within API or web services or equivalent application integration; 8 years of experience in software development or full lifecycle implementation roles, with progressive increases in responsibility.
- 4 years of experience in middleware or API integration development within a Healthcare or Electronic Health context.
- Certifications:
- MuleSoft or equivalent API or microservices development technology (preferred).
- Object-oriented programming language (preferred).
- Record capacity.
- Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be able to work independently as well as within a team environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products and other collaboration tools, including virtual meeting and cloud technologies.
Additional details
- Position is remote.
- Travel up to 10% of the time.
