Job summary

Lam Research in Fremont, CA is seeking an Information Security Engineer (Application Security) to strengthen Secure SDLC practices and drive product security reviews. The role focuses on risk assessments, threat modeling, and secure coding across Lam-developed applications and AI-enabled solutions.

You will collaborate with development teams, implement SAST/DAST/SCA tools, and address AI security considerations, including model governance and data protection, to reduce risk early in development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, information technology, engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in information security, application security, product security, software engineering, DevSecOps, or related technical field.
• Working knowledge of Secure SDLC practices, including threat modeling, secure design review, code review, vulnerability assessment, and security testing.
• Familiarity with OWASP Top 10, API security, authentication/authorization, input validation, secrets management, and secure coding practices.
• Hands-on experience with one or more application security tools such as SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets scanning, container scanning, or vulnerability management platforms.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to secure design, Secure SDLC execution, and product security reviews.
• Assist with application risk assessments, threat modeling, code review, vulnerability assessment, and penetration testing.
• Support the integration and operation of application security tools in CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with development teams to document security requirements and controls based on risk and data sensitivity.
• Help apply secure coding standards and OWASP guidance across projects.
• Review AI-related security risks including prompt injection, data leakage, and lack of human oversight.
• Participate in AI-related security initiatives and secure MLOps processes.
• Research, evaluate, and pilot new security capabilities and AI-assisted AppSec workflows.
• Document findings clearly for teams and governance tracking.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to reduce application and product security risk.
