Job summary

Sensient Technologies Corporation is seeking an Application Scientist for our Pharmaceutical Business Unit in the United States. The role is lab-based and customer-facing, focusing on non-active ingredients for dietary supplements and pharmaceutical products.

You will develop expertise in excipients, create demonstration content, train teams, and support product launches while collaborating across functions. Occasional travel <20% and relocation to Hoffman Estates, IL may be required.

Qualifications

• University degree in a related scientific discipline.
• Experience with formulation, development, and production of technical ingredients; analytical knowledge preferred.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills; ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and collaborate to meet project timelines.
• Develop expertise for optimal usage of excipients in customer formats (e.g., gummies, beverages, tablets).
• Create technical content, samples, and training materials for teams and launches.
• Respond to customer inquiries about product applications and usage.
• Understand customer formulations and guide troubleshooting for best results.
• Follow procedures for commercialization and support first runs and production issues.
• Cross-train in flavor application and participate in sensory panels.
