Job summary

Sensient Technologies seeks an Application Scientist in its Pharmaceutical Business Unit. This lab-based, customer-facing role develops Sensient color, coating and flavor excipients for dietary supplements and pharmaceutical products, focusing on non-active ingredients.

You will support projects, generate samples, train teams, and collaborate across global partners while advancing formulation and troubleshooting strategies and ensuring compliant, timely commercialization.

Qualifications

• Degree required in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, biological sciences, or related field.
• Experience with formulation, development and production of technical ingredients preferred, analytic methods knowledge helps.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and collaborate to complete projects on schedule.
• Develop subject matter expertise for Sensient excipients in formats like gummies, beverages, and tablets.
• Create technical content and application samples for demonstrations and launches.
• Respond to customer inquiries on technical aspects and product use.
• Understand customer formulations and guide development and troubleshooting.
• Follow procedures for commercialization and support production first runs; cross-train in flavor applications.
