Job summary

MGP Ingredients in Atchison, Kansas is seeking an Application Scientist to develop and commercialize food and beverage applications using their ingredient portfolio.

The candidate will have a Master’s degree and 3–8 years of experience in food applications, leading projects that enhance product development. This role collaborates across functions to support customer innovation and ensure compliance.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of experience in food applications, R&D, or product development.
• Experience in extrusion, bakery systems, coating technologies, or beverage formulation preferred.
• Strong understanding of ingredient functionality (proteins, starches, fibers).
• Demonstrated capability across snacks, bakery, coatings, and beverages.

Responsibilities

• Develop prototype formulations and finished applications using plant proteins and specialty ingredients.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to translate customer briefs into scalable product concepts.
• Support plant trials and commercialization activities.
• Participate in customer meetings and innovation sessions.
