Job description

This is a seasonal/intermittent role that will require the incumbent to work up to 30 hours per week. Application readers will be working remotely, on a flexible schedule.

Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of six health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Social Work, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. The School teaches approximately 600 PharmD students and 145 graduate students. The School has built a reputation for its continued pursuit of excellence, rigorous education and training programs, cutting-edge multidisciplinary research, progressive pharmacy practices, efficient business operations, and its outstanding faculty, staff, and students. Position Summary

The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy seeks Seasonal Application Readers who will assist in evaluating Doctor of Pharmacy applications. This is a seasonal position that runs from July 2025-April 2026, with the possibility of extension. The position requires approximately 15-30 hours of work per week from July through April.
Primary responsibilities include:

* Read and evaluate approximately 30 admissions applications per week. Review both academic and non-academic credentials as part of a holistic application evaluation. Evaluate students comprehensively, valuing a wide range of qualities, including academic performance, extracurricular activities, leadership, and community service. Help build an entering class that fosters excellence for the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and contributes to the School's mission of developing leaders in pharmacy education, pharmacy practice, and pharmaceutical sciences who make a difference on human health worldwide.
* Summarize applicants' strengths and weaknesses and provide input on each candidate in relation to the applicant pool.
* Participate in professional discussions about applicants in an effort to identify candidates with the above-mentioned qualities.

Application Reader must be able to attend a series of training sessions on campus as well as weekly online meetings (time and day TBD ). The remaining balance of work can be done at home. Personal computer with Internet access is required if candidate desires to work from home.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

-Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
-Ability to meet strict deadlines and work in a team-oriented atmosphere.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Preferred Experience:
Previous experience with college admissions, higher education, pharmaceutical practice, high school counseling, college advising, or with programs designed to improve the college-going success rates of high school students is highly desired.
