Job Description

The Application Lead is responsible for managing a product or portfolio of products throughout its lifecycle. The individual will:

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Lead Application Lifecycle Activities
  • Implement complex applications on one or more platforms, ensuring proper documentation is developed.
  • Lead design discussions with IT staff and customers.
  • Devise or modify processes and procedures to solve complex problems.
  • Partner with leadership to define and maintain strategic product roadmap which aligns with business goals.
  • Provide focus to ongoing management of application, ensuring all work being performed aligns with product roadmap.
  • Provide quality assurance, including ensuring new/modified applications are ready for release.
  • Manage relationship with software vendors and external service providers.
  • Lead the research and evaluation of new technology, products, and tools to optimize functionality of applications.
  • Establish and execute feedback mechanisms to ensure product meets expectations of business.
Provide Support
  • Support complex operational activities.
  • Analyze, compare, and evaluate various courses of action and make decisions within the scope of responsibilities.
  • Work with leadership to curate and prioritize work activities for portfolio or product.
  • Provide off hours support, as needed.
  • Serve as point of escalation for complex issues.
Leadership
  • Provide technical and functional direction and mentoring to staff.
  • Train, monitor, and guide less experienced staff.
  • Provide input to management on team member performance reviews, hire decisions.
  • Contribute to the professional development of the team.
  • Demonstrate and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Ensure continual improvement of and adherence to departmental standards by team members.

Salary Range

$84,200.00 - $148,500.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
