Master the Bench. Build Next-Gen Test Systems.
Love getting hands-on with test equipment, building custom cable assemblies, and debugging complex electrical setups? At DEWESoft, we design and manufacture world-class Data Acquisition (DAQ) hardware and software used by top aerospace, automotive, and industrial engineering teams worldwide.
We are seeking a hands-on Application Technician to join our engineering team at our U.S. Headquarters in Whitehouse, OH. In this role, you will be part of the core technical group supporting our internal sales team, staging client systems, running lab demos, and providing expert technical support—all from our state-of-the-art facility.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an Application Technician, you own the bench. You will act as the technical authority ensuring our hardware and software solutions are prepped, tested, and performing at peak levels.
- System Staging & Lab Integration: Build, wire, configure, and validate multi-channel DAQ systems, sensor arrays, and signal conditioning racks for client orders and custom proof-of-concepts.
- Internal & Client Technical Support: Act as the second-line technical expert assisting field sales teams and clients via phone, email, and remote sessions to troubleshoot hardware, sensor, and software setups.
- Run In-House Demos & Proofs-of-Concept: Recreate customer measurement challenges in the Whitehouse lab (VFDs, motors, strain gauges, CAN bus) to prove DEWESoft performance before deployment.
- Author Technical Content: Create clear "How-To" guides, application notes, video walkthroughs, and wiring diagrams to help clients and internal teams get the most out of our systems.
- Test & Product Feedback: Benchmark new hardware modules, test software releases, and work directly with product development to improve ease-of-use and reliability.
What You Bring
- Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, or a related technical discipline.
- Hands-On Bench Skills: Proficient with multimeter usage, oscilloscopes, signal generators, soldering, cable crimping, and reading electrical schematics/wiring diagrams.
- Sensor & Signal Basics: Good understanding of analog signals, voltage/current transducers, strain gauges, accelerometers, thermocouple connections, and basic 3-phase power principles.
- Software Aptitude: Comfortable learning and navigating specialized data collection software and industrial protocols (CAN bus, Modbus, OPC UA).
- Communication & Problem-Solving: Clear verbal/written communication skills and a systematic approach to troubleshooting technical issues step-by-step.
