Job summary

Horton, Inc. in Roseville, MN is seeking an Application Engineering Co-op for Winter/Summer 2027 or Summer/Fall 2027. The role centers on supporting integration of existing products into new applications under guidance from a mentor and a full-time engineer.

You will engage in design, analysis, DFMEA, test planning, and component/system testing to ensure performance and reliability, with opportunities to develop testing and validation skills in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree with at least 2 years completed.
• Junior or Senior status.
• Demonstrated leadership and initiative.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to communicate clearly across the organization.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Motivated, self directed, and the ability to make risk balanced decisions.
• Modeling and drafting of concepts into designs that can be tested.
• Conducts computer aided analysis of new concepts with FEA and/or CFD.
• Tests materials and concepts, working closely with the test lab staff to design tests and document results.
• Develops test designs to measure the function and quality of products and to test new ideas or modifications of existing products.
• Provides technical expertise in support of improvements to existing product designs; authorizes product design revisions.
• Provides engineering support to the process of modification of existing products to meet customer requirements, while retaining product function and quality.
