Purpose

As part of a Commercial Operations Team, the Application Engineer is responsible for engineered centrifugal pumps supply projects throughout the entire “quote to cash” process. This includes hydraulic selections, technical alignment, cost estimation, and supporting sales during final customer negotiations. The engineer acts as the main point of contact for the customer during project execution and is internally responsible for time and cost management by coordinating with all involved teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze Customers’ Material Requisition (MR) and project specifications.
• Identify suitable pump ranges and select appropriate sizes with performance curves that meet customer needs.
• Collaborate with the product engineering team to assess pump curves for critical applications.
• Manage Customers’ technical queries, clarifications, and deviations from project specifications.
• Support the technical alignment of engineered subcomponents (seals & systems, drivers, lube oil systems, gears, control panels, etc.).
• Select and evaluate all pump configuration options to determine the complete item cost.
• Prepare the quote package, including attachments as per customer requests and internal procedures, for submission through the sales team.
• Verify the coherence of Purchase Orders (POs) received from the customer.
• Initiate and coordinate project kickoff meetings according to company procedures.
• Monitor project schedules and KPIs to identify and implement corrective actions for deviations.
• Oversee project costs, including purchase and production orders, to address variances from the budget.
• Assist the Credit Control department with cash collection, claims, and financial forecasting.
• Handle potential Change Orders from cost estimation through to quote submission.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of client-facing experience.
• At least 3 years of engineering and order process experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
