We are seeking an Application Engineer, Process & Safety to become an integral part of our team!

Position Summary

The Sales Applications Engineer is a technical and commercial resource with a thorough understanding of how H2scan’s Hydrogen sensor and analyzer solutions meet the needs of our customers. Their primary function is to provide an optimized product or solution that addresses the customer’s business need. Additional responsibilities will be to deliver product and application training, provide occasional after sales support, and use the acquired market knowledge to guide product roadmaps.

The Application Engineer will work closely with the sales team, engineers, and others to provide the best solution for our customers. They will assist in translating that solution into a compelling customer proposal. The role will be focused on all the applications served by our Process and Safety sensors and analyzers.

The candidate is expected to be curious by nature and won’t be afraid to ask why until all the information related to an application or business need has been uncovered and the appropriate solution proposed.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

Business Partnering

1. Has knowledge of the customer’s process and safety needs, proposes solutions for customers, and conveys those needs and trends back into the business.

2. Is customer obsessed and drives that culture into the organization by holding people accountable to customer commitments.

3. Partners with H2scan employees to deliver a gold class level of support to your customers.

4. Escalates customer issues when necessary to appropriate H2scan Management.

5. Represents H2scan at appropriate customer and industry events to network and promote H2scan.

6. Helps advance sales, supports tradeshows and provides content for newsletters.

Primary Functions

1. Gathers all the necessary Customer’s application and business needs, and compiles H2scan designs to solve their problem. Guides customers on the solution and how the H2scan solution meets their immediate and lifetime needs.

2. Works with Customers and Sales to secure customer design wins with H2scan’s products.

3. Supports quote proposals to customers by providing application designs to account teams.

4. Contributes to sales presentations, as well as demonstrating solutions to customers.

5. Provides clients with technical support as needed, and relays information to H2scan’s development teams for ongoing maintenance and roadmap consideration.

6. Provides customer feedback and application trends to marketing and product management team.

7. Supports testing of new or existing products to ensure they work in applications as intended.

8. Maintain knowledge of advancements in the Hydrogen industry as well as sensing and analyzer technologies.

Accountability, Planning & Reporting

1. Improve customer and vendor confidence through superior product knowledge.

2. Identify and communicate new sales potential at customers.

3. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Communicates succinctly, responds to customers in a timely manner.

4. Disciplined record-keeping to track the solutions, product to application mapping and best practices.

5. Perpetually share learned experiences to advance group knowledge.

6. Promote awareness of all our sales and services to customers.

7. Provide world-class support to customers and understand the appropriate urgency level and escalation paths to resolve challenges.

Customer Relations

1. Supports the sales team on sales calls (occasionally travelling to customer sites).

2. Understands the customer needs and applications, and H2scan’s solutions to those needs. Develops cost-effective offerings for customer needs.

3. Adapt to different personality types to utilize the most effective form of communication (in-person, email, text, phone, online, etc.).

4. As required, provides internal and external (customer) training on our products and how they address customer problems.

5. Updates customer engagements in H2scan’s CRM.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent with relevant experience).

2. Familiarity and experience with gas sensing, in particular Hydrogen applications is advantageous.

3. Experienced at engaging customers at multiple levels and functions (e.g., operating, engineering, maintenance, and management) within customer or prospect organizations.

4. Knows how to communicate with customers on both the system and component level topics.

5. Creates Believability, Likability and Trust with customers.

6. Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple simultaneous responsibilities and multi-task.

7. The candidate must be located near a major airport and is expected to travel occasionally.

Location:Valencia, CA. (Remote positions may be considered)
