Job summary

Hexagon AB is offering an Application Engineer Intern position for Summer 2027 in the Milwaukee/Waukesha area. The role targets students pursuing engineering degrees with expected graduation in Dec 2027 or May/June 2028 and includes hands-on customer support, software applications, and product demonstrations.

Interns will gain exposure to metrology and manufacturing technologies, collaborate with global teams, and may transition to a full-time role after graduation.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Industrial Engineering, or related field of study.
• Expected graduation date: December 2027 or May/June 2028.
• Demonstrated interest in engineering metrology and manufacturing technologies.
• Foundational knowledge of CAD/CAM tools, programming, or data analysis.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team setting.
• Curiosity and problem-solving mindset with a drive to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support demonstrations of Hexagon’s measurement and manufacturing software to prospective customers.
• Assist with technical evaluations, product testing, and configuration of applications.
• Troubleshoot customer issues under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Contribute to preparing training materials, documentation, and technical presentations.
• Shadow engineers in customer engagements to learn how solutions are tailored to industry needs.
• Participate in cross-functional projects bridging R&D, product management, and customer support.
• Learn industry best practices in CAD/CAM, simulation, and data analysis.
