Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a role responsible for the equipment portion of project work, including validating equipment selection, pricing, discounts, and submittals. You will drive strategy and performance against budget objectives in a hands-on, HVAC-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • HVAC project management or estimating experience required.
  • Experience with commercial AHU selections and submittals.
  • Non-4-year degree candidates are encouraged if they have relevant skills and leadership alignment.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and temperature controls preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize/validate commercial air handling HVAC equipment: size, configuration, voltage, options, by reviewing plans, specs, estimates, proposals.
  • Evaluate potential cost savings or problems on projects.
  • Validate project scope by reviewing transition documents, plans and specs; identify cost savings and issues; validate quantities and configurations.
  • Support sales with preliminary and final submittals; participate in transition and submittal meetings.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends in air handling; stay competitive.
  • Prepare correct equipment for order entry, verify pricing, and manage project financials.

Where is the work: Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.

In this role, you will be responsible for the equipment portion of various projects including validating the equipment selection, pricing, discounts, and submittal processes of the equipment portion of projects as required and will be accountable for the strategy and performance achievement of the specific budget objectives.

What you will do:
  • Responsible for the optimization/validation of commercial air handling HVAC equipment: to include selection of size, configuration, voltage, options, etc. of the equipment by reviewing the plans, specifications, original estimate and proposal.
  • Responsible for evaluating possible cost savings and/or cost problems that will occur on various projects.
  • Validates project scope by reviewing transition documents, plans and specs; listing possible cost savings and problems, and validating quantities and configurations.
  • Supports sales and develops preliminary submittals and/or final submittals as required, as well as hold job transition meetings and submittal release meetings.
  • Maintains competitive advantage and stays abreast of industry trends within the air handling market.
  • Responsible for preparing the correct equipment for order entry, verifying equipment pricing and managing project financials.
What you will bring:
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction or Engineering Technology, or other related areas with minimum two (2) years of experience in the HVAC industry performing project management or estimating roles; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience; or minimum of five (5) years of experience in the HVAC industry performing project management or estimating roles; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • HVAC equipment experience required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of / experience with completion of commercial AHU selections and submittals.
  • Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.
  • Familiarity with HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls preferred.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

$91,516.66 - $148,200.00 Compensation Type: Salary Incentive Eligible: Yes Sales Commission Eligible: No Disclaimer: We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors. Our compensation range is generally based on the national average for the country.
