Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a talented Application Engineer with expertise in software solutions, particularly remote management products. You will provide software solutions and support to enterprise customers and promote Supermicro’s software offerings for end-to-end optimized solutions.

The role requires a strong technical background in software products, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interface with management and staff at all levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 1–2 years of automated testing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Python programming and scripting.
• Ability to work independently and research solutions.
• 2+ years in computer systems/servers support is a plus.
• Strong organizational and social skills; good written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide software solutions and support to enterprise customers.
• Handle customer cases, troubleshoot, and ensure resolution.
• Test automation: write and maintain automated test scripts.
• Develop internal tools (reports, dashboards, workflow utilities).
• VIP customer support as primary or backup contact.
• Contribute to company software projects with SW/PM teams.

Job Summary:

Supermicro is seeking a talented and passionate Application Engineerwith expertise in software solutions, particularly in remote management products. You will be responsible for providing software solutions and support to our enterprise customers, as well as promoting Supermicro’s software products to deliver optimized end-to-end solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in software products and exceptional communication skills, with the ability to interface professionally with all levels of management and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

• Regular Technical Support duties: customer case handling, troubleshooting, and follow‑through to resolution.
• Test automation for our software products (writing and maintaining automated test cases and scripts).
• Development of internal tools for managers and other departments (reports, dashboards, workflow utilities).
• VIP customer support: Primary or backup contact for high‑priority accounts
• Contribution to company software projects (BMC, CMM, Redfish, etc.) — design reviews, testing, and coordination with SW/PM teams

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years of working experience in automated testing is preferred
• Knowledge and skill on Python programming
• Working independently and able to research and solve problems
• 2+ years of working / technical support experience in computer systems and/or servers is a plus
• Strong organizational and well-developed social skills
• Highly analytical, creative, detail oriented, organized, good team player is a plus
• Excellent telephone etiquette skills and on-site support skills
• Excellent knowledge of Server / Workstation GPU products is a plus
• Strong communication skill in both verbal and written

Salary Range

$80,000 - $100,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
