Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Application Engineer to join our technology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, integration, and support of web and software applications that enhance our healthcare services and internal operations. This is a remote position, but candidates must reside in the U.S. and be authorized to work in the United States (U.S. citizenship or valid U.S. work permit required).

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement software solutions that support business and clinical operations.

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain secure and scalable applications and APIs.

Integrate third-party systems (e.g., EHR, EMR, CRM platforms) using RESTful APIs or other appropriate methods.

Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications to improve performance, reliability, and user experience.

Participate in code reviews, technical planning sessions, and Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, retrospectives).

Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for new and existing applications.

Work with QA and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality releases and maintain CI/CD pipelines.

Provide technical support and training to internal stakeholders and end-users as needed.

Monitor application health and performance, proactively addressing issues or enhancements.

Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations regarding software development and data security in healthcare.

Qualifications

Required:

U.S. citizenship or valid U.S. work authorization (e.g., Green Card holder).

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

3+ years of professional experience in application engineering or full-stack development.

Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, JavaScript, Java, or C#.

Experience with front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue) and back-end technologies (Node.js, Django, .NET, or similar).

Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.).

Strong understanding of software design principles, object-oriented programming, and system integration.

Working knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation.

Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.

Preferred:

Experience in healthcare technology environments or familiarity with clinical workflows.

Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and data security best practices in healthcare.

Experience with EHR/EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, etc.).

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization/orchestration tools.

Previous experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
