Job summary

CIRCOR International, Inc. is seeking an Application Engineer II to partner with global customers in selecting optimal pumping solutions.

This customer-facing role supports engineering, purchasing, project management, operations and management, and generates RFQs and project documents. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in production/engineering or related fields, with familiarity in rotating equipment and strong communication, driving compliant, high-quality proposals and BOMs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years combined experience in Production, Engineering, Technical Support or Customer Service with at least 3 years in a technical capacity.
• Experience with rotating equipment (centrifugal, screw, progressive cavity, gear pumps) preferred.
• Ability to review engineering drawings and ensure compliance with standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Determine best pumping solution based on customer operating conditions and sizing.
• Review engineering specifications and ensure solution compliance.
• Act as technical liaison across Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Project Management, Operations and Management.
• Generate timely and accurate requests for quotations.
• Prepare and submit ETO, vendor and project documents.
• Assist with order entry for non-standard requests.
• Create part numbers and bill of materials.
• Create high quality processes and work instructions.
• Focus on delivering a positive customer experience.
• Travel is minimal, about 10%.

TheApplication EngineerII is responsible for partnering with our global customers to provide the best pumping solution for their application. We are an Engineer-To-Order (ETO) business. This is a customer-facing position, aiding through standard support channels (phone, email, and chat), and working with many customer departments, including Engineering, Purchasing, Project Management, Operations, and General Management.

• Determine best pumping solution based on the customer’s operating conditions, including pump and motor sizing and selections.
• Review engineering/technical specifications and ensure our solution is compliant.
• Serve as the key technical liaison, working cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Project Management, Operations, Customer Care, our vendors, and our global resources to modify existing offerings and create custom solutions.
• Generate timely and accurate request for quotations.
• Prepares and submits ETO, vendor, and project documents.
• Assists with order entry of non-standard requests.
• Create part numbers and bill of materials.
• Create high quality processes and work instructions.
• Focus on delivering a positive customer experience.
• Travel is minimal, 10%.

• Twin Screw Pump Knowledge preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Continuous improvement and data analysis skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with CRM, and ERP software systems preferred.

Education & Experience

• 5 years of combined experience within in Production, Engineering, Technical Support, or Customer Service, with at least 3 years in a technical capacity. Experience with rotating equipment, including centrifugal, screw type, progressive cavity, and gear pumps is strongly preferred. Experience producing technical proposals detailing full scope of supply, evaluation, and acceptability or applicability to customer or industry standard specifications preferred.
