Job summary

Davalyn Corporation is seeking a Field Applications Engineer to install, commission, and optimize fiber laser cutting systems at customer sites across North America. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role that rewards hands-on technical capability and a passion for helping manufacturers maximize machine performance.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and start up fiber laser cutting systems at customer facilities.
• Configure and optimize machine settings for quality and productivity.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, software, controls, and laser process issues on-site and remotely.
• Fine-tune cutting parameters, gas settings, nozzle alignment, and performance.
• Verify equipment performance during installation and startup and support customer acceptance.
• Train operators, programmers, maintenance personnel, and production teams.
• Support customers as they transition new equipment into production.
• Prepare installation reports and service documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and service teams on projects and improvements.
• Serve as a trusted technical resource and responsive support throughout the machine life.

Our client is a growing manufacturer of advanced fiber laser cutting systems serving metal fabricators, contract manufacturers, precision sheet metal producers, OEMs, and industrial manufacturers across North America.

They are seeking a Field Applications Engineer to install, commission, optimize, and support fiber laser cutting systems at customer facilities. This highly visible, customer-facing role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with advanced manufacturing technology, solving technical challenges, and helping customers maximize machine performance.

What You'll Do:

• Install, commission, and start up fiber laser cutting systems at customer facilities.
• Configure and optimize machine settings to achieve superior cutting quality, productivity, and overall process performance.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, software, controls, and laser process issues both remotely and on-site.
• Fine-tune cutting parameters, assist gas settings, nozzle alignment, focus, and machine performance to meet customer production requirements.
• Verify equipment performance during installation and startup while supporting successful customer acceptance.
• Train operators, programmers, maintenance personnel, and production teams on machine operation, programming, preventive maintenance, and best practices.
• Support customers as they transition new equipment into production, ensuring reliable and repeatable manufacturing performance.
• Prepare detailed service documentation and installation reports.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, sales, and service teams to support customer projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a trusted technical resource, providing responsive support and helping customers maximize equipment performance throughout the life of the machine.

Preferred Background:

We're interested in professionals with hands-on experience supporting fiber laser cutting systems in an applications engineering, field service engineering, laser service, or manufacturing environment.

Strong candidates will have experience with:

• Fiber laser field service
• Machine installation and commissioning
• Laser cutting process optimizationFiber laser programming and setup

• Preventive maintenance and equipment troubleshooting

Experience working directly with manufacturers that utilize fiber laser cutting technology is highly desirable.

• Base salary of $75,000–$100,000, depending on experience
