Job summary

A global leader in mobile electronics located near Detroit, MI is seeking an Applications Engineer. This role involves being a technical liaison between the client and OEM customers in the development and testing of multimedia products. Responsibilities include product conceptualization, customer liaison, and installation of audio components into test vehicles. Candidates should possess a Bachelor degree in a technical field and have a minimum of five years' experience in OEM engineering of electronic products. Strong skills in teamwork and MS Excel are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conceptualization of new products.
• Coordination of Sales, Production, and Customer for APQP activities.

Job description

Amtec is seeking an Applications Engineer to work for a global leader in mobile electronics, located near Detroit, MI. The Application Engineer's focus will be as technical liaison and support between the client and the OEM customer on electrical/software requirements and testing for OEM multimedia/entertainment products for North American OEMs.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Conceptualization of new products
• Coordination of Sales, Production and Customer for APQP activities on new products
• Liaison with customers regarding development issues and information
• Communication with the client regarding OEM customer issues and information
• Assist Quality Control with the acceptability of manufactured product
• Delivery of software to OEM customer
• Support of OEM customer activities including JQTA, joint check, N100 check, etc. as necessary
• HMI Evaluation activities (i.e. – benchmark testing, development of HMI evaluation procedure, new technology research, etc.)
• Product testing/software validation/field testing and creation of lab reports as necessary
• Install audio/navigation components into test vehicles, complete in-vehicle testing
• Identify and record problems relating to the product
• To review and the disposition of nonconforming product, contingent upon unanimity
• Other authorities and responsibilities as identified in applicable quality system policies
• Other duties as assigned

Periodic Duties & Responsibilities

• Support advanced engineering/planning/benchmarking activities as necessary for new business opportunities, RFQ process
• Other periodic duties as assigned by senior/executive management

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Experience Required

• A Bachelor degree in a technical field and a minimum of five years’ experience in OEM engineering of electronic based products, preferably audio components.
