Job description

Manufacturer of large air pollution control systems for industrial facilities and power plants has an opening for an Application Engineer.

The candidate will support sales and marketing efforts and learn about industrial air pollution control equipment. Knowledge with industrial processes and equipment a plus.

Candidate will learn basics and details regarding the design, manufacturing and assembly of our industrial air pollution control equipment which includes: exhaust stacks, thermal oxidizers, wet scrubbers, gas turbine SCRs (used in the power generating industry) and industrial furnace SCRs.

The acquired knowledge will be used along with the candidate’s strong mathematical, engineering, spreadsheet (excel) development and word processing skills to perform:

• Cost estimation and pricing of one or more pieces of equipment through preliminary design
• Generate proposals and follow up on open proposals
• Responsible for quoting and receiving Parts Orders from existing clients (from $100’s to $1000’s per Parts Order) and enter the orders per procedures. Develop efforts to expand our sales in parts (valves, switches, filter bags, burners, meters, ceramics, etc.) and collaborate with efforts on expanding our Service Agreements.

Candidate must have an Engineering Degree, strong interpersonal and verbal skills, detailed oriented and organized with an ability to handle a wide range of technical information from clients to suppliers and our own engineering staff.
