Job summary

Siemens AG in Boulder, CO seeks an Application Engineer to work closely with customers, sales, and consulting to promote Siemens EDA products and services. You will help test software and provide input to engineering on customer requirements while supporting revenue goals.

Reporting to the Technical Marketing manager, you will deliver consulting services and develop sales enablement materials, including demonstrations, workshops, and training for AEs, customers, and the sales team.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Knowledge of printed circuit board design, documentation, and manufacturing processes.
• 3+ years experience working on electronics design.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable leading detailed technical conversations and presenting to large audiences.
• No travel restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Create sales enablement materials including presentations, demonstrations, workshops, videos, instructional documents, scripts, design kits, and the like.
• Train AEs, sales team members, and customers on product capabilities and process best practices through direct live events and/or recorded materials.
• Support sales activities through direct customer interaction including demonstrations and hands‑on evaluations.
• Deliver paid consulting services.
• Provide input to engineering regarding customer requirements.
• Test pre‑release software and log issues as necessary.

Position Overview

The Application Engineer works closely with customers, sales teams, and consulting to promote and deliver Siemens EDA products and related services. They also provide input to engineering regarding customer requirements and help test new software to ensure alignment with customer needs.

Reporting to the Technical Marketing manager, the Application Engineer helps the Electronics Board Systems (EBS) division meet its annual revenue goals directly by supporting customer evaluations and delivering consulting services and indirectly by developing sales enablement materials used by others.

Responsibilities

Specific tasks and deliverables include the following.

• Create sales enablement materials including presentations, demonstrations, workshops, videos, instructional documents, scripts, design kits, and the like.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
• Knowledge of printed circuit board design, documentation, and manufacturing processes
• 3+ years experience working on electronics design

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• Experience using PCB design tools (Siemens, Cadence, Altium, etc.)
• Experience using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools such as Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, and Dassault 3DX
• Programming skills including Java, VB.NET, Perl, and Python

CONTROLLED TECHNOLOGY

This position will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Employment is contingent on either verifying the U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license.
