Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced IT leader to oversee a team of Senior Oracle Application Developers and consultants, directing design, development and delivery of enterprise applications. You will ensure adherence to standards, manage budgets, and drive performance improvements across complex environments.

The role requires strong communication, collaboration with multiple IT teams, and the ability to coordinate offshore and on-site resources to meet objectives and timelines.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of business processes for supported business groups.
  • Advanced knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure and operations.
  • Advanced working knowledge of information systems and operations systems for supported business groups.
  • Knowledge of GM Financial's core business functions.
  • Knowledgeable of best practices in information technology governance and regulatory landscape for financial institutions.
  • Significant experience in a large and complex business environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel data analysis and data mining capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to create and work RFC and SR tickets with Oracle On Demand, Oracle Managed Cloud Services, and Oracle Support.
  • Ability to effectively lead, organize and supervise.
  • Ability to meet delivery dates and achieve objectives.
  • Advanced computer skills and familiarity with IT issues.
  • Advanced experience with data visualization concepts and tools.
  • Deadline oriented.
  • Self-starter and able to manage investigations with minimal supervision.
  • 7–10 years in a technical lead or manager role, leading a team of developers.
  • Greater than 10 years of IT experience in design, development and production support of enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Senior Oracle Application Developers, Report developers and Oracle consultants onsite and offshore.
  • Oversee performance reviews, time-off approvals, time tracking and training needs for direct reports.
  • Ensure delivery of projects on time and within budget.
  • Review design and development of technical solutions meeting business requirements.
  • Ensure GMF Oracle Development Standards and project methodology are followed by development teams.
  • Work on system performance and process improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate release management and liaise with Oracle on Service Requests and RFCs.
  • Collaborate with Data Architecture, DBA and System Administration teams to identify dependencies and risks.
  • Assist with budgeting activities.
  • Liaise with external vendors and third‑party software providers.

Job description
