Job summary

Hylaine is seeking an Application Development Consultant to join our consulting pool. You’ll work across industries, focusing on systems languages and choosing the right tool for the job, delivering practical software solutions.

In a collaborative team, you’ll design, implement, and test software for clients, contribute to code quality and documentation, and grow through exposure to web platforms, databases, and modern development practices.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of at least one major web-focused language/platform (C# + ASP.NET, Java + Spring, JS + Node, Python + Django).
• Basic or better knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML/JS/CSS) and a JS framework is a plus (Angular, React, Vue).
• Experience with software development processes, Agile methodologies, QA, and ALM tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams to design, develop, and deliver software solutions for clients across industries.
• Contribute to code quality, testing, and documentation; participate in Agile ceremonies and reviews.

As an Application Development Consultant, you form the backbone of our consulting pool. You will be exposed to a little bit of everything, with a strong focus on systems languages and choosing the right tool for the job. You will be working within a team to build solutionsthatsolverealproblems for our clientsacross many industries.

What you’ll need:

• Solid knowledge of a major web-focused language/platform combination: C# + ASP.NET | Java + Spring | JS + Node | Python + Django
• Basic or better knowledge of front-end web technologies: The basics (HTML/JS/CSS) and a JS framework as a plus (Angular, React, Vue)
• Working knowledge of software development processes, Agile methodologies, QA, and ALM tools like Jira or Azure DevOps
• Working knowledge of how databases interface with what you build. Relational preferred, non-relational appreciated
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to work our teams and clients.

Extra Credit:

• Experience with one of the major Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Experience with data layer integration technologies such as Entity Framework (EF) or Dapper.
• DevOps and modern CI/CD practices in Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or equivalent
• Experience with containerization and microservice architecture.
