Job summary

Orbis Operations seeks an Application Developer to build, deploy, and sustain web and data applications supporting federal intelligence programs. This growth role emphasizes broad exposure to the application life cycle and the ability to pick up new tools as missions require.

The ideal candidate is curious, adaptable, and ready to own increasing technical responsibility over time, with on-site collaboration across the Washington Metro Area and occasional remote work from Orbis offices if needed.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph (FSP).
• 2-5 years of applied software development experience or equivalent in application development/data engineering.
• Experience designing, consuming, and troubleshooting APIs and building data pipelines across systems.

Responsibilities

• Delivery: Translate requirements from analysts and end users into working features and deployable applications.
• Application Development: Build and maintain interfaces and server-side logic across the stack.
• Data Pipelines: Build and sustain ingestion pipelines from feeds, batch loads, and external systems.
• AI/Agentic Support: Support architecture behind AI agent and retrieval-driven applications.
• Deployment & Sustainment: Package, deploy, and sustain containerized apps in cloud and air-gapped environments.
• Testing & Support: Debug issues, run automated tests, and resolve user problems.
• Collaboration: Work with product owners, analysts, and senior engineers in an agile environment.
