Job summary

Orbis Operations is seeking an Application Developer to build, deploy, and sustain web and data applications supporting federal intelligence programs. This growth role offers broad exposure across the application lifecycle, with a path toward greater technical ownership.

The right candidate will be on-site in the Washington, DC area, traveling to meet with customers, and may work from Orbis offices or remotely when appropriate. You will join a team that values adaptability and hands-on delivery.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph (FSP), current and in scope.
• 2–5 years of applied software development or equivalent.
• Designing, consuming, and troubleshooting APIs, and building data pipelines across applications, data sources, and external services.
• Hands-on experience packaging and running applications in containers on Linux.
• Track record of learning new languages, frameworks, and tools on the job.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements from analysts and end users into features and deployable applications.
• Build and maintain interfaces and server-side logic across the stack.
• Build and sustain ingestion pipelines from feeds, batch loads, and external systems.
• Support the architecture, integration, and validation layers behind AI agent and retrieval-driven applications.
• Package, deploy, and sustain containerized applications in cloud and accredited environments, including air-gapped enclaves.
• Debug issues, run automated and functional tests, and resolve user-reported problems.
• Work with product owners, analysts, and senior engineers in an agile environment.
