Job summary

University of Michigan is seeking an Application Developer Senior within ITS to join the Enterprise Applications Services team. This role offers hybrid or remote work options at the department's discretion and involves developing customer-focused solutions, collaborating with analysts, and ensuring application standards.

The candidate will apply expertise in .NET technologies, REST/SOAP/JSON services, and database management (MS SQL Server/Oracle) to maintain and enhance critical university

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business computing or related field, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Experience with .NET Core, .NET, MVC and databases MS SQL Server/Oracle.
  • Experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, JSON).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with team members and service support groups to resolve incidents, enhancements, and fixes.
  • Monitors applications and systems for availability, errors, and performance.
  • Work with business system analysts to formulate requirements and advise on solutions.
  • Align with application standards and procedures, such as deploying changes.
  • Handle development, automation, configuration, customization, troubleshooting, upgrades, integration, and maintenance of systems.

Job Summary:

Information and Technology Services (ITS) is looking for an Application Developer Senior to join the Enterprise Applications Services (EAS) team within ITS.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with team members and service support groups to effectively resolve incidents, enhancement requests and fixes. Monitors applications and other systems for availability, error conditions, and performance
  • Aim to develop customer-focused solutions using technical design skills and relationships with internal groups
  • Work with business system analysts in formulating requirements and advise on solutions
  • Align with application standards and procedures, such as deploying changes
  • Assignments include development, automation, configuration, customization, troubleshooting, upgrades, integration, and maintenance of systems
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business computing or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
  • Experience applying appropriate technical tools to perform daily administration tasks, root-cause analysis and service restoration.
  • Experience with .NET Core, .NET, and MVC frameworks and MS SQL Server and Oracle databases
  • Experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, JSON)
Desired Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Programmer, Systems Administrator, Systems Integrator, or related role
  • Proficiency with DevOps: Git, GitHub, MSBuild, Azure DevOps, TFS, PowerShell, NUnit, containerization (Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with the Salesforce platform, including data modeling, data migration and data integration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
